Big Brother Series 2Bubble
Bubble was booted off Big Brother after a dastardly trick worthy only of Nasty Nick. Supporters of football clubs including Arsenal, Fulham, Aston Villa and Manchester United saw a message on the internet advertising a telephone line for club gossip. But callers found they had been tricked into registering their vote to evict Chelsea fan Bubble from the Big Brother house.
A rogue fan set up the scam by posting a notice on message boards and chat forums on the sports website rivals.net. It read: "Message for all fans. For all the latest news, information and gossip on your club including transfer talk and interviews with players and coaching staff call the following number now: 0901 1154403." The message stayed up for a few days but was eventually taken off after fans complained. Bubble was the fourth contestant to be evicted from the house with 53 per cent of the vote - against 47 per cent for Paul. A spokeswoman confirmed yesterday that officials on the Channel 4 show will investigate the scam. She said: "The number of people who have voted in each Big Brother eviction has been consistently over one million. Hoax emails or websites are unlikely to have a massive impact on the final outcome - but our auditors will look into it. The problem is we have no power to stop people putting things on the web, and it is impossible to tell from the phone lines if people had intended to vote or not."
Bubble is to be quizzed by police about malicious phone calls made to a pregnant pub landlady. Bubble will be asked about calls made to Shelley Parry, 27. Bubble fell out with her and her husband Keith after he was banned from the Maypole pub in Surbiton, Surrey, for snorting cocaine in the toilet and bullying two handicapped men. Keith said: "I didn't think twice about barring him." The couple complained to the police when they started getting threatening phone calls in January. Bubble has admitted on screen he once had a 500-a-week cocaine habit. He said his weight plunged to eight stone after he began using the drug to stay awake while working as a nightclub manager. But he quit the drug after pals urged him to kick it for the sake of his three-year-old daughter. Bubble made his confession in a late-night chat with housemate Amma. He said: "I was drinking at work all the time and cocaine just kept me awake. At the time you dont realise you have a problem." Bubble, who had his daughter by an ex-lover, went on: "Someone said, Every 50 you spend on that stuff, you could be spending on your little girl. So I stopped." Meanwhile Bubble and Paul have both admitted they are prepared to have sex on screen. Bubble, from Surbiton, Surrey, told Amma: "Id do it. Im hardly going to pass up the opportunity. Sex is one of those things you could go months without. So if you get the chance, get in there." |
